Current Threads: Sweet In The City

It's finally HOT! It was an extremely long winter but I can finally feel the sun on my skin and I'm loving it!!!! I've been shopping a lot lately, buying things to build up my spring and summer wardrobe. After all, they are my favorite seasons and I want my wardrobe to reflect that.

What's more trendy right now than a crop tank, flare midi skirt, and dainty white chucks!? I loved this silhouette on me. Though, I'm short I still pulled it off. So, whether you're short or super tall you can rock this! This look was so refreshing and comfortable. It's perfect for a fun spring day. & Stay tuned.. I'm going to post about the rest of my new spring purchases!

Oh! & as you can see.. I recently got box braids. Talk about a perfect hairstyle for spring and summer. I will definitely rock this hairstyle throughout these two hot seasons.. I love braids because they keep me care-free. That's all I want to be until winter comes back around.

Love,

Current Threads: Fresh Print

I stopped into Urban Outfitters to simply have a look around. I walked the entire store and was headed out the door when this amazingly cropped, fresh printed tee caught my eye. I knew instantly what would go with it. I chose a trendy black midi skirt because the solid black color would allow the cropped tee to be the focus of the outfit. Next, accessories! I already had a necklace that had the exact peach color that was in the shirt ;), and the black patent leather bootie would for sure set everything off!

Current Breakdown:
URBAN OUTFITTERS cropped tee
EXPRESS necklace
EXPRESS midi skirt
CARLOS SANTANA patent leather booties

I'm loving this transitional look from winter to spring! I can feel spring coming and I'm so excited!!!!

Much love,

Current Threads: Pink Ankle Strap Pop

I definitely needed a new side profile picture for the blog. My 'fro is my constant hairstyle, so, it just made sense! I shopped asos.com for at least two hours contemplating what to order. I finally made a decision. The t-shirt with organza panels and mesh detailed skirt complimented each other so well! I HAD to order the two pieces. I thought the look would be fun, trendy, and perfect for spring. Lately, I've been exploring more of an urban style. I'm loving it! I'm only going to be young once, so I'm going for it!
Ok, so, I made one more decision ;).. I switched the black mesh skirt for a pair of white skinny jeans for my side profile picture. Yes, I was a little indecisive, BUT I wanted to keep the all white theme! I totally love both outfits. It just goes to show that you can mix and match almost anything.

Kisses!

Style Inspiration: Valentine's Day | Date Night

Valentine's Day: Date Night
Valentine's day is three days away, and I bet there are millions of women running around trying to put together that perfect Date Night outfit. My advice; I know you can't go wrong with a black or red bodycon dress. Talk about HOT! Also, a jumpsuit is perfect for something different and a little more comfortable. If your date is going to last for a few hours; I definitely suggest a jumpsuit. Last, but not least, I'm thinking the best separate's outfit option is a pencil skirt, chiffon blouse, and fur vest. SUUUUUPER CUTE! Find what makes you feel the best. You're going to need to feel amazing.. it's Valentine's Day!!! I was also scrolling through Pinterest, as usual, and I came across an amazing Valentine's date night outfit..... Look!

I am absolutely in love with the thought of a pink and red ensemble!!!

Happy Valentine's Day,
Extra Love..

NYFW Stand-Out: Christian Siriano Fall 2014 RTW

Of course I love Christian Siriano. I fell in love with him on his season of Project Runway. He has also made a few appearances in the latest seasons. I get excited every time his face comes across my TV. I not only love his personality but who he is as a designer. He has definitely grown since his days on project runway and his Fall 2014 collection shows that. This collection screams sophistication! His color story was emerald, purple, black and white. Emerald is an uber trendy color for Fall. I just keep flipping through his look book on style.com in awe. It's jaw-dropping greatness!!!

Current Threads: Button Down Kind Of Day

I woke up this morning and knew I just wanted to put on something easy and not fussy. Something care-free. The basics popped into my head.. White shirt, jeans, simple heels. While I wanted the basics of an easy outfit, I didn't want to look basic! I figured out how to amp up each piece. I pulled an oversized "boyfriend" button down, ripped skinnies, and black pointed toe heels from my closet. Wallah!!!

Current Breakdown:
FOREVER 21 men's button down

NINE WEST ankle strap heels

Loving the simplicity!

Beauty Scoop: Switching It Up

One thing you should know about me.. I love switching my look up. Playing with different hair styles and outfits is just my thing. I'm not the girl that sticks with "what works".. I like to try different things. It's necessary that I have fun and express myself with a variety of styles. It's me being alive!!

This straightened auburn-colored look has opened my eyes and shifted my mood (in a positive way). I absolutely love the way I'm feeling. It's amazing what a new 'do can do!

Now.. I'm not totally crazy. My wild and kinky curls are still in tact ;)! I worked so hard for my natural hair to thrive. There is no way I would ever quit my natural hair journey. I'm natural for life! For now, however, I'm going to enjoy this new look! Stay tuned for complementing and fresh outfits.

Love,
CC

Current Threads: Sequins For The Season

'Tis the season to be fabulous and drenched in sequins! Sequined dresses, jumpers, tops, shoes... Yes! Any and everything sequins!!! Christmas and New Year's calls for it. I wanted to put together an outfit just to celebrate the holidays. What can I pair with these green sequined leggings?? -- I asked myself.. A non-chalant pullover sweater and a pop of red was necessary. It's holiday without being too literal. It turned out to be a funky and fun ode to classic holiday. I am loving the look, and it made me feel amazing. That's the most important thing. Get inspired guys! Go put together some fun holiday outfits!

Current Threads: LSU vs. BAMA Outfits

I had the time of my life bar hopping on the strip, party going, and tailgating last weekend. I was reunited with a lot of my Bama class mates and sorority sisters. It is always amazing to be around great company.

My outfit preparation began about a month prior to time. Yes, the outfits for big weekends such as this one are everything! I knew I wanted to rock a print for each outfit. On Friday, I started with an all plaid look and then changed into a floral print long-sleeve dress. On Saturday, I decided on a houndstooth flirty look. I did have a party outfit planned for Saturday night but I was way too tired to go out. Non-stop weekends can take a lot out of you! I'll be saving that dress for later ;)

The best part of the weekend was, of course, winning the game!!! Bama is undefeated STILL, and I have no doubt that it will remain that way! ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Current Threads: 'Fro And Denim

I can't believe it's already November! I swear time seriously flies. Where does it go? I wish I knew! Anyways, I've decided to get back to rocking my natural hair. I've been wearing it straight for several months, but I felt like it was time to unleash the curls. I thought I'd put together a fun casual outfit to compliment my curls! What's easier and more fun than denim? Denim button down and white denim jeans... Perfect! These shoes and belt were the perfect accessory additions to complete this effortless look!

I'm going to have a great day! When you look good you feel good. That's the truth!
